On September 23, 2026, a national scientific and practical seminar titled "Specifics of Production Technology and Application of High-Strength Concretes" took place in Minsk. Organized by the "Institute of Housing – NIPTIS named after S.S. Atayev" (a state-owned enterprise) with the support of the Ministry of Architecture and Construction of the Republic of Belarus, the event brought together leading experts, scientists, designers, and technical managers from the country's major construction companies.
Brest State Technical University was represented at the seminar by Viktor Vladimirovich Tur, Head of the Department of Concrete Technology and Building Materials, Doctor of Technical Sciences, and Professor.
His presentation focused on one of the most pressing topics in the construction industry: "New requirements for concrete mixes and structural concretes in accordance with STB 2674-2025 'Structural Concretes: Technical Specifications'." The implementation of this national standard necessitates a significant revision of existing approaches within the construction industry.
In his address, Viktor Vladimirovich detailed the key aspects of the new standard:
Scope of application, terminology, and updated technical requirements for concrete specifications.
Fundamental approaches to concrete mix design, taking into account the rigorous requirements of STB 2674-2025.
Methods for monitoring concrete strength based on conformity criteria.
Assessment of characteristic concrete strength based on test results from samples taken directly from finished structures.
The relationship between the new regulatory framework and current construction codes in the Republic of Belarus. The professor’s presentation sparked keen interest among the seminar participants, as the methodologies and explanations he proposed directly address the improvement of quality, reliability, and efficiency in concrete work at construction sites across the country. The participation of BrSTU experts in events of this caliber reaffirms the leading role of the BrSTU scientific school in the advancement of construction science and the regulatory framework of the Republic of Belarus.
