Employment, Migration, and Security: Meeting of BrSTU International Students with Law Enforcement Representatives

Representatives of law enforcement and government agencies held a traditional meeting with international students of Brest State Technical University on May 20, 2026.

Inna Dmitrievna Novozhilova, Head of the Department of Labor, Employment, and Social Protection of the Brest City Executive Committee, spoke about the employment opportunities available to foreign citizens in our country. In most cases, employment of foreign citizens is possible with a special permit; however, there are a number of specialties in which employment is available to international students without such a permit. Inna Dmitrievna provided an updated list of such professions for interested participants and also noted the importance of documented knowledge of the Russian language as a significant requirement for employment.

International students had the opportunity to ask questions about the rules of stay and residence in the Republic of Belarus to Ruslan Nikolaevich Khotko, Head of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Brest Moskovsky District Department of Internal Affairs. Department staff emphasized the importance of strict compliance with Belarusian migration laws and also drew attention to the need to adhere to the internal regulations for residence in the university dormitory.

Senior Lieutenant Yevgeny Aleksandrovich Mushta, an employee of the State Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus, reminded the students of the rules of stay in the border zone and border regulations, and warned them against illegally crossing the state border of the Republic of Belarus.

At the end of the meeting, BrSTU Vice-Rector for Educational Work Natalia Petrovna Yalovaya thanked the guests for the comprehensive information. She encouraged the international students to take a responsible approach to their studies and actively participate in university student life alongside Belarusian students in order to gain an engaging social experience and successfully complete their studies.
